I was looking at getting this for storage on a local network. but there seems to be a bunch of conflict info out there. One part says you can't use it for MP#, AVI Xvids ect.... the other Camp say as long as you don't install MioNet your good to go and the last I've heard is you have to hack it to use it for storage of Mp3, avi and the like.


So please help me figure this out. Will this work for a Local only NAS? with out to much headache. the price is great and speed isn't a primary concern. but I would hate to get it home and find out all my videos won't go on it.

There is an Issue of sharing musci and other media files when using this NAS.

At the moment I would stay away from it.

No big lose since it is a technically mediocre to begin with.
