Western Digital 250 GB HDD - $37 AR/PM - CircuitCity

Kelemvor

Lifer
Borrowed from ObeseMoneyclip

Valid 1/15 - 1/21

Purchase at Circuit City, $149.99 with $40 Mfr and $40 CC rebates.

Rebate #1
Rebate #2

PM to OfficeMax during the same week, $119.99 before rebate. See OM weekly AD
OM has the drive for $149 + $30 Instant rebate + $30 MIR. So it's $119 out the door.
OM Link

Summary:
$149.99 - $33 PM ($30 + 10%) - $40MIR - $40MIR = $36.99

Also some people have tried to PM to Sams which sells the drive for $109 so that could be an extra $10 off if you can get CC to PM to Sams.

Only bad part is the drive onyl has a 1 year warranty....

Just PM in instore when you buy the HD... -$33

Only problem with that is sometimes they won't do the rebates if you have a PM on the receipt. Best to get the rebate receipts first and then PM after that.

OK so here's a load of crap. So I called their 800 number to see if they would perform a price match with OM. This CSR goes on to tell me (after putting me on hold for 20 min) that they cannot price match Office Max since the CC price for the HD is cheaper after rebate........ I was like :Q.......

She said that that was thier price match policy. I told her that she was wrong. How on earth could you insist on using your mail in rebates and say that because you offer an MIR then it makes it less expensive then the competitor? They don't let you price match a competitors price after calculating their MIR, so why do they try to go the other way using their own MIR to leverage you out of a price match? Lame. I'm going to the B&M. teaches me to be lazy.

Well its nice that their return policy is hassle free, too bad the purchase policy is not.

Dude, you NEVER EVER CALL THEIR HOTLINE, OR ASK IF YOU CAN PM IF YOU HAVEn"T BOUGHT IT YET, period. That is the #1 rule of PM. They will bs to you.

CC PM policy = they price match AR

What people get away with. is going online, purchasing it for in store, so rebates don't come out. Then when you go to the store, make sure you signed to buy it first. Then find someone who doesn't look very intelligent, show them your price, and then show them the ad, and ask to get PM'ed to the original price. If they go to the back, they found the rebates, and it's best to leave. If they don't, boo yah. Someone people get away with this, some don't. this is why YMMV.

I got so pissed that I didn't get the Seagate 300 GB for $55 AR after PM. But hey, when the next one comes, I'll make sure not to go to the one near me 🙂 I tried twice and failed twice. Freakin lame.

I got a PM once on a cable modem and I couldn't get the rebate. Don't bother with a PM unless you're willing to take a chance, because I know that several people have managed to get their rebates anyway.

Ricemarine: "CC PM policy = they price match AR"
Not surprisingly.
So you have to trick them if you want to use rebates on top of price matching.

Its more like they refuse your PM with a rebate

PM is always YMMV. It's always who you deal with in the register. I've had failure and success in the same store.

After getting 3 Hitachi drives last week I am never ever buying and Western Digital drives again no matter how cheap they are. The Hitachis run quiet and cool whereas you can fry and egg on all the Western Digital drives I have. Regardless of whether the drives last or not I don't need any extra heat in my system. Bye bye WD.
