I at first believed my Video Card was the culprit of my problems, however, i've fast discovered it is my 160gig WD (8mb cache).

The drive makes a sort of high pitches sound, and is EXTREMELY sluggish. I click on my computer and it seems to take days to open the actual window, then it spends more time searching for the drive, only to not be able to find A PARTITION?!

I have (not the actual letters, but this is how it's partitioned.
page files - 1.5 gig
system - 20gig
stuff - 100 gig
My operating system is WinXP Pro, 1.6P4, winfast ti4600, Kingston Hyper-X 512 pc3000, and an ASUS P4s533 Board.

The last time i booted it up, at the post screen i had a warning by the SMART system or something like that? It said roughly 'Warning - Hard drive failure is imminent, back up date now!" and it blinked and everything.

I managed to get my data onto another harddrive, but am wondering what to do about my 160? Is it dead? And if so, i don't know if i have my reciept for the purchase - how can i claim warranty/rma information? Any help is appreciated

To check warranty, go to Western Digitals website and download
the latest DATA LIFEGUARD diagnostic software and run it on the drive.

If running it returns an Error Code, and the drive is less than a 1 year old
go back to the website and go to SUPPORT - WARRANTY SERVICES - End User - Product Warranty Check

If it is covered, go to the RMA Online section and fill in the requested info.
