I recently purchesd a Western Digital 160 GB Hard Drive so I could increase my mp3 collection. Without reading the instructions I opened it and plugged it into the power supply and to the usb cable on the back of my pc. I copied an mpc to the new drive just to see if it worked. It saved the mpc and I can access it by going to My Computer/ western digital icon for the new hard drive, The only problem is the new drive doesn't shut off until I disconnect it from the power cord. I never had to install any drivers, the computer just automatically recognized it. Should I unplug it and reinstall it through the add hardware wizard to get rid of the problem? I am confused.

Since you're relitively new here, we'll make the rules on this clear here, bub.

1) If you already have a thread on a subject, don't create a new one.
2) If your thread has fallen to the wayside(i.e. it's been off the front page for half a day or so), then you can bump it so that people will notice it.
3) If after bumping it a couple of times people stilld don't respond, give up.

Follow these rules and you'll do fine, otherwise as a new guy, the mods are going to have a field day with you.;)
