I just got my MicroCenter Year End Specials Catalog in the mail today. Low and behold, what do I see on page 21? WD Cavier 120GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive for $199 after $100 mfr mail-in rebate. So since I've been hearing about all the pricematching fiascos and the ads for AMEX Blue Card, the lightbulb went off in my head. You can order the hard drive online (Should be in stock within 1-3 weeks) for $299 (comes with $100 mfr mail-in rebate which expires 12/30/01 so you have plenty of time to get it), get a scan of the Best Buy price for the hard drive which is $199, then finally go through AMEX pricematch and get the $100 difference.
Summary of Deal:
$299 (Microcenter Price)
- $100 (MFR Rebate)
- $100 (AMEX Pricematch)
Total: $99
They may have the HD in the local stores but I haven't verified that, will try to this week. By the way this is my first post. Glad to give back to the Anandtech community which has given me so much, reduced the size of my wallet, and made me and the UPS man friends.
