Got one of these a year ago, no problems with it. Better than my seagate I recently got.

$50 rebates(or any rebates) suck though. :(

link to the deal here

this hd has two rebates. one for $20 from CC and one for $30 from WD. guess there is no problem with this since WD requires the actual UPC and CC requires a copy?

Same deal at Fry's, Outpost, and Microcenter (see other threads). For the Fry's/Outpost deal, both rebates go to the same PO box in El Paso, TX. I was gonna do a PM at CC to avoid the two rebates, but now I can't! :(

Edit: The Fry's/Outpost deal was for the SATA version.

Bought a pair of these from Fry's 2 years ago. I think one of them is failing. Either that, or the promise tx2 raid card's not working so well.

Fry's has Seagate 200GB IDE drives for $74.99 after rebate.

That's $0.375/gig vs. $0.416 for the WD drive. Do you need 80 more GB? It's cheaper that way!

Good point. Also due to the inherent nature of IDE drives (4 IDE drive limit on many machines) bigger is definitely better. However I bought the WD 120Gb drive from CC about two years ago for $10 plus tax after a CC double rebate, heck I think the tax was almost $10.
I was waiting for a price drop to $5 :)

I got one of these during the summer -- it failed in about 10 days. The replacement is still running but the machine is quite loud now.

I've had 3 in my computer for two years now and no problems. They aren't the most quiet drives, but they have been fast and reliable. However, I plan on selling one or two of them off in a few weeks to make room for a few bigger drives.

It is important to notice that the B&M price is $99.99 but the Online store has a 10% discount putting it to $89.99

you could always buy it online for store pik-up and save on the shipping as I just did

Good deal, but.... ATA/133 is faster in a raid than ATA/100 so that's what I need! I wish there'd be some deals like this on the ATA/133...
