Wester Digital SATA 120GB HDD

Hi,
I just installed a new WD120GB SATA disk on my rig. I feel that the noise it makes while accessing data is too noisy compared to my Maxtor 260GB SATA disk. Is this regular for WD harddisks?
The noise drives me crazy... damm I wish I bought another Maxtor.
Any comments.
Thanks.

I have the same drive, but I don't think it's noisy. Maybe because my other parts are covering it. I hear nasty things about Maxtor drives, so I don't think you should regret your purchase.

In my case, the only noise is from cpu fan noise which I will be changing to zalman. I only hear a 'cricking' noise during data transfer or access and I dont know if I am being picky.

Anyway, thanks for your inputs guys, will live with my drive..

I don't know, maybe some drives (1 in 100 or something) come with bad parts or assembled badly which causes them to make noise.
