Well here is the problem. I installed a new WD 80GB 5400 RPM drive. I formatted it fat32 and tried to copy over my mp3's. It copies for about 2 minutes and then gives the following error "Cannot Copy *.mp3 path is too deep". I have tried NTFS files system, one 80 GB partition, 2 40GB partitions. The mp3 files copy fine between my other WD 20GB HD and my WD 30GB HD.

My system specs: AMD XP 1800+, ECS k7s5a motherboard, promise ata100 pci card ( where the source data HD is connected) .
WindowsXP

Any ideas?

Have you tried using the software that comes with the Western Digital drive? That is how I did my copying and it worked just fine.

<< Tried that and the damn ez-setup formatted it as a 1.99 gig hd. >>

What kind of partioning did you use? Because getting a 1.99gig HD sounds like you used FAT file system.
