Too much to read (and most likely biased) to make an accurate judgement so, for the sake of expediency, I say guilty.

I am very good friends with the judge who tried the case. He says this is all crazy. I think they were involved but I think someone else was involved who walked away from it all.

what does the judge think about the Paradise Lost documentary?

it made a pretty compelling arguement that the case was mishandled. And the father of one of the victims was all caps CRAZY.

i have never seen a crazier mofo, not even in fiction movies!! I think the dad did it and pinned it on the 3. it was his knife no? or something like that... it was too long ago

either way, they ARE going to be executed. it's been too long, nobody will ever grant them an appeal.

Proof that fear is the enemy of justice. That the revenge mentality of the mob is the opposite of law and order.

Henry Rollins has been raising money for these guys for years. He strongly believes they are innocent

Of interest regarding one of the victims' fathers:

"In a bizarre turn of events, Mark Byers--Christopher's stepfather--gave a hunting knife to documentarians Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofky while they were filming the first Paradise Lost feature. After noting what they thought was blood, Berlinger and Sinofsky gave the knife to police, who determined the blood matched Christopher Byers' blood type. Mark Beyers had initially claimed the knife had never been used, then after blood was found on it, he claimed he'd used it only once, to butcher a deer. When told the blood matched his son's type, Mark Byers said he had no idea how that blood might have gotten on the knife. During interrogation, West Memphis police suggested to Mark Byers that he might have left the knife out accidentally, and Byers agreed with this.

Mark Beyers' theatrical histrionics drew attention, and after the first trial, he had his teeth removed, never offering a "consistent rationale" for doing so. [4] (http://www.ejumpcut.org/currentissue/goth/4.html) There has been speculation that Mark Byers killed the victims, and had his teeth removed to avoid their being matched with bite marks on his stepson's body."

It's the arkansas police, they are about as competent as a mentally retarded newt.
They -had- to convict someone or they would look like fools. So they sent these kids to prison.

motorhead has a big ol banner on their site for them. I think the three kids were motorhead fans and the pros. used that in their argument as well.

I remember when this happened. West Memphis is about an 45 minutes from here. The bodies were found in an area just behind a house belonging to a cousin of my wife. When the trial was going on (here in Jonesboro) I remember never being totally sold on the idea that they were solely responsible for the murders though I do think they were involved.

damn, seems like craziness...gonna have to check out those movies

they pose very interesting questions. When my wife told me to watch them, I thought they were just gonna be like "oh they convicted them just because they liked heavy metal music blah blah blah boo hoo." but both movies (there are two) are done very well, and really bring out how poorly their cases were handled.

I really expected them to suck, but after seeing them it really made me question what happened. and after seeing it you will totally thing the psycho dad did it.

just saw the second one, netflix doesnt have the first one.

thought it was pretty crazy, that one guys father is insane (although that doesnt mean he had anything to do with it)

the big problem getting them out is they havent proved anything was done wrong in the first trial...yes it looks like its ridiculus they were convicted, but they need to proove something was done wrong and that wont happen until someone admits fault, which probably wont happen...

really sux though...even if they are guilty they were not convicted on any evidence
