We are using a old system and the newer isdn system was made backwards compatible with pots so it has no new technology. Getting a updated system will never happen anytime soon.

It doesn't help today the caller ID system is so easy to fake. And the biggest reason? It works.

I just realized, it's been a while since the last time I had the "BRRRRRRRRR This is your captain speaking!" calls. Now it's mostly Telus trying to get me to switch my cell service. I'm on a $15/mo plan. They cannot beat it. They even tried to offer me a plan that is $15 for 6 months. Why would I switch to that when my current plan is $15 indefinitely.

I never got a lot of bullshit calls, but they started recently after I gave my # to someone. Might be coincidence, but I suspect he has some shitware on his phone, and my number got exfiltrated to spammers.
