Were there (insert your state here) literature classes at your college?

I'm taking a California lit class right now and mostly enjoying it. There really is a lot of literature to choose from, from Jack London to L. Frank Baum and Raymond Chandler. Quite the variety. None of it is world class go down in history stuff, but still a lot of it is worth a read. What I wonder is, do other states do this? I mean, I'm in a UC, it makes sense to have a Cali lit class. I have a bit of a hard time imagining there being an Idaho literature class, or an Arkansas literature class though. Is this something they do in other states, or does the University of California just have a big ego?

What states are you guys from? I really don't see this as feasible in some of the smaller states, but it would make sense to have something like a New England literature class, or a New York literature class, since those areas would have literary themes particular to them, as California has had literary themes develop particular to it.

I went to college in Minnesota and Arizona and neither had it.

They did have a History of Minnesota class though, but it was History, not Lit.

Yep, Tulane offers a Louisiana literature course. Not to mention New Orleans Architecture and New Orleans Music classes (several of each). Also, Louisiana History courses.
