Some people [USA] value freedom. Others don't [Vietnamese].
Some are so ideologically poisened as to dellude themselves that their imposition of will upon another equates to that other attaining "freedom."

This is true throughout history from religion, imperialism, and politics.

[Edit] Of note, those with autocratic tendancies often project notions of exceptionalism, where they know best and others fail to recognise what that are missing to better themselves. That follows in the theme of this thread where the OP has difficulties to fathom that a loss if his perception of nationalism in the USA apparently leads to the lack of total support for the US President.

Fact is, sometimes when the President is doing the best things is when he has especially low ratings.

For example, we all think (except a few radical Libertarians) the civil rights bills were a good thing eliminating segregation and helping voter rights etc.

But JFK had to delay the bills because they threatened his entire agenda, and LBJ recognized he was 'handing the White House to Republicans' by passing them.

A rare exception is that when FDR had his first term, ratings were pretty high for his battle against the Great Depression.

Nice way to try and defend Obama's low rating now.
