I've been to some of those message boards. Their post count is *greatly* inflated by the 13 year olds who routinely post simple replies such as:

1.) hehe

2.) :roll:

3.) dunno

4.) wow :heart:

5.) me 2

You can't compare them to more mature boards which have longer posts which require actual thought. I think a more accurate rating would be based on unique characters typed.
