How about an 8 foot long radio controlled F4 phantom for $1800. I don't know if that includes eth motor or the radio.
Boats, cars, crap, they had all sorts of cool stuff. They had a whole wall covered with little engines 🙂

The F4 was the best though. an 8ft long RC jet would kick ass.
 
I didn't ask haw fast it was, but I think I remember seeing one one the discovey channel or something once. I think it went about 170.

An 8' F4 would be sweet, but it would also be sweet to get a nice helicopter, especially if I could do this(big video)!

But the $64,000 question is did the hobby shop have a 600MB image of the earth yet?
 
I did some research on jets a while ago. I've seen some reach speeds of around 230 mph and am pretty sure they can go faster.

The engines alone can cost over $3,000. I saw a custom A-10 Warthog for sale for $7,000.
 
I'm starting to fly model airplanes, and believe me, you don't want to start out flying one of those things. You'll wreck it it's first time up 😛
