got that right

WTG OP!!!

In case you guys couldn't figure it out, higher quality food costs more. For what you get, Panera's main food item prices are quite reasonable.

Also, Panera's profit margins are no higher than most other fast/specialty food shops. In other words, they are razor thin.

Their soups are awesome. They made the best corn chowder I think I've ever had, although it probalby took a year or two off of my life.

Too bad you didn't get some cherry strudel. I LOVE that stuff!

I got it the last time I went... OMG it's AMAZING. The only reason I got it is because they had free samples and it was too good not to get.

I initially wanted to boycott the place because of their $3+ peanut butter jelly sandwich, but the more I got there, the more I like it.

I worked at Panera Bread for 3 years - two in high school and one in freshman year of college. We liked to make fun of customers who didn't, neigh, COULDN'T, understand the concept of "U PICK 2." I mean, come on, there are 3 choices (a bowl of soup, a half salad, or a half sandwich), and you get to pick two of them. Any two. Go ahead, it's ok. You can get all 3 if you are hungry, but you will have to pay full price for that 3rd item. Otherwise it would be called the U Pick 3.
Also, how hard is it to say your first name? If your name is Uuiuisdfyhifdiusdfh then just say Bob and move on. It's not hard. It won't cause you any pain or suffering. Luckily for people like you, some locations just assign numbers or pagers to the orders.

Yeah, the sandwiches cost some money.. but you get your moneys worth. Go eat a 99cent cheeseburger if you think it's too much.

After working there for 3 years I still love the food - many of my high school buddies who worked at other fast food restaurants said they could never eat at them after working there and seeing what goes on in the back.

Panera Bread....was over the top for you ? LOLLERSKATES...

It's a freakin' sandwich/cafe/bakery....and their bread btw. is AWFUL.

Looks like you didn't read the OP. Had there been an indication that I had to pick between the half sandwich/side and full sandwich, I would have.

Asking for a name just threw me off. With a fast food-style counter setup (order, move to side, wait), I don't expect to have to differentiate my order from others. I made light of it.

I read it, that's why I didn't say "we liked to make fun of customers like you who didn't..."
Just felt like posting an anecdote from when I worked there. At one point, I honestly could have wriitten a book about how dumb people are that come into that place. Too-scawn? No, TUSCAN.
I can't tell you how many variations of asiago I've heard.

maybe you should stick to Sizzler and the food counter at Walmart. you'll feel more at home there.

actually, walmart has subway and mcdonald's now, which seem too uppity for the OP's taste

I, too, only like going there for early-morning bagal. Bagal and water, less than $1. The only thing I don't feel is wildly overpriced. I can make a sandwich and soup at home for around $1, thanks.
