My god, I am in total awe of the setups some of the head-fi members have. I LOVED IT!

Finally got to listen to many of the headphones and amps i've been dreaming about ever since I got interested in the Audiophile community. Multiples of Stax, R10, K1000, HD650, ESW10, K701, D5000, F1, and tons more... Not to mention the amps and dacs, Millet Hybrid, Luxman, Blue Circle, Dynamite.. It was insane and I was in heaven.

Its funny, you never really fully understand why people spend so much money on this stuff until you hear it firsthand. I heard things in songs i've been listening to for years that I never knew could be heard, simply amazing.

 :)

I'd have to say though, I didn't think i'd really go for the Stax but man, those are some amazing sounding headphones.

The Kansas City area one (has been held in Lawrence actually) have met up several times, but I haven't gone. I was going to back in February but those plans fell apart.

I've been having a terrible time finding a source, so I'm going to simplify things a bit. I'm selling most of my setup (current headphones, DAC, amp) and replacing it with W5000s (my Sony CD player has a 1/4" headphone jack). Not sure where I'm gonna go from there.

I agree. If you're a music lover it's like hearing some stuff for the first time.

I was never a whole lot for headphones but with just the right positioning, my old Acoustat Monitor 4s made the whole room a headphone.

I should have never sold those but the WAF (wife acceptance factor) was very low. :brokenheart:

What was the sonic difference between the Mini3 and the CMOY?

How much will you want for the Mini^3? :D I got dibs, depending on the price. I don't have time to build an amp right now, not a headphone amp at least.
