My wife's Mother is slighly dysfunctinal. When it comes to money if she has $500 she will spend $450 on dogs instead of doing stuff like get food or pay for heating cost.
My wife's 16 yr old sister is tired of living in a house with no food, running water, a abusive mother etc. so she asked us if she could live with us..of course we said yes.
in December she moved in and we started the court proceddings. we were sopposed to go to court last month but M (the mother) called H (the 16 yr old) and put her on a major guilt trip. so the court date was deleyed until today.
Also H gets $271(was 800 a month) a month from SSDI because her father is on it. M didnt care that we had her daughter but hell once we got the SSDI she threw a fit. M was getting $800 for H before we got her now its less. Seems M didnt tell SS that the $800 was for H, her adopted son, and M. So M called SS and said H got it all and now H owes SS $8k in back SS payments.
Well last night after H got off work she went to her other sisters house and talked with M for 3 hours (no we did not know about it until after it was done. H was sopposed to be at a friends house). Well this morning we get to court and H does not know if she wants to continue or not. Seems That M Was threatning to tell the judge that i am mollesting not only my child but all the girls in town ( 6 girls under 15) and get me arrested and the kids taken away.
so H was freaking out about it (And the fact that M has a history of such shit) and was thinking of dropping the case. We talked her into asking to continue it and the judge agreed. M threw a fit in court and complained that she spends $70 each time she comes up (wich has been twice now)
After court we are standing out there and M is talking to GAL (gaurdian ad lantum?) and then yells you are all assholes and H is not allowed at my house again and storms off.
well. Seems M filled papers with the GAL (H's attorney type thing) claimign that i am mollesting not only my daughter but all the kids in town! the GAL said she didnt believe that.
BUT this is not the first time M has filled such claims against me. Back when H was 11 she claimed i mollested her. She even called DCFS on me at the time. there was a investigation and it was unfounded (yeah hard to get it to stick when even the kids say it didnt happen). M threatens to call DCFS on us whenever we take my kids to my wife's dad's house. And i know she Called DCFS on one other familyi member for bullshit.
then to top it off she comes OVER to my house AFTER court and can't understand why we told her to get the fuck off the property?
I have no fear of the mollestation charges. the parents of the kids she claim i mollested know about her allagations and one even went to court with us incase it was brought up in court. All have said if anything happens they will sue/file charges against mindy for such crap. I am thankfull that the people here know me well enough that nobody in town beleives it.
i just can't beleive a mother would treat her daughters such as she has. She is putting both of t hem through hell with guilt and worry about it. H is scared to death of what may happen to my daughter (she is 6) and i have been trying to calm her down on it. only good thing is now her GAL told her not to worry. IF DCFS is called she will talk to them.
odd part is im perfectly calm and not even that mad. im more pissed of that when M was here she tore up lawn with her van. I think because her antics pissed the judge off and just helped prove oure case.
Sigh im going out for lunch and a beer. i will be back.

after all the drama/threats/bullshit my mother-in-law didnt even show up for court. the judge was not happy about it. the whole thing didnt even take 5 minutes.
so now we can put her in school and get her on both health and car insurance heh
