It was a HUGE party with tons of great dark beer. The town is Helen, Georgia. We were able to camp out for like $10 a night and the weather was great. (despite a little rain on Friday night/Sat morning)

Did anyone else kick it German style this weekend?

In my city we have the biggest German festival in the world outside of the big one in Munich. :beer:😎
 
Alas, for the third straight year in a row, I had booked a hotel room in Munich (a block away from the Fest Platz), but cancelled at the last minute. Each year, I've had the hotel room booked at least nine months in advance! This year, I just couldn't justify the expense after spending two wild months on a Greek island. I also spent a weekend in Munich this summer and discovered that you can experience the "Oktober Fest" at just about any time in Munich during the summer, and it's arguably even better than the real deal for many reasons.

Helen, GA isn't too bad, though. I was there back in June. I ate one of the best schnitzels ever!
