Today was the county sheriff's auction of seized goods. They had like 15 computers (fastest was a 400mhz) for $20 each. All different sizes of monitors for $20 (they were out of 17+ when i got there).

BUT they had laser printers. they had ONE color laser printer sell for $20. But they had a HP laserjet 5si for $15 and a HP laserjet 4 for $10!

Plus radios, DVD players etc. I grabbed the 5si and some tools. man it was a good deal.

Now i just need to see if it works. Hope it does. My wife was not happy that i bought it. heh so we are not sure if we are even going to keep it =( bummer.

Its rather large and heavy. so i don't think we can sale it on ebay. bah!

Are you sure? Most universities have periodic surplus auctions with similar deals...

We've had a 5si at work for a long time, and it's run over 1.1 million pages, with not one service call. But the "maintenance kit" you have to put in every so often is over $100.

Great printer if you have high volume.
