I can't explain it better than this: girls on roller skates, dressed like hookers, beating the shit out of each other. It was hilarious. Especially the crowd yelling "OOOOOOOOOH" when one of them gets checked and faceplants.

Apparently it's a national sport?

It is an utterly ridiculous sport, but there does seem to be a lot of strategy and athleticism behind it. It took me about an hour before I stopped expecting Kenny Blankenship to jump out with an MXC Impact Replay. Between that and the announcers, who I swear work for ESPN 8 "The Ocho", I was very entertained. $20 well spent.
 
I have found that it is a great way to relieve stress and hit people legally. And yes, there are a lot of smokin' hot roller girls out there. 🙂

No, I am a noob. I haven't played a game yet. 🙁 Only practice. It is surprisingly hard than it looks. Hopefully I will play my first game in the next couple of months.

It is easy for me to remember and no one else has it.
I was going to go for The Violent Femmebot but it got rejected.
 
When I was in Vegas two years ago, RollerCon just happened to be going on at the same time. I hung out with some roller girls and had a blast. Watching a match is definitely a whole lot of fun. I would have never understood it had someone tried to explain it to me. You have to see it (preferably up close in suicide seats) to get it.

I have to say, there are quite a few lesbos at the Carolina Roller Girls games I've been at. Last time I think we were sitting near the "player's girlfriends" section or something. I'm sure they aren't all lesbos, but the lesbo quotient is certainly up there.

I remember watching Roller Derby back in the '70's. I thought it was cool.

I got a kick out of the Roller Derby episode of CSI:NY.
