I just had Five Guys for the first time last week in DC (although, oddly enough, both Arizona and Michigan have had locations open up in the last year...which is where I live and my parents live, respectively) and it really was a great burger. The fries were plentiful and as many have said, you actually can taste the potatoes. I still don't know if I'd prefer In n Out or Five Guys though...Five Guys was pretty pricey compared to In n Out.

The trick there is go with two people. The small fries is more than enough for two people, and their "small" burger is a 1/4 lb burger- their normal burger is a 1/2 lbs double monster. 2 small burgers with 1 fry and 2 drinks should be around $8-$10. Can hardly go to McDonalds for that.

Thanks for making me feel like a glutton. I just polished off a regular burger and small fries.

5 Guys is awesome. In and Out doesn't hold shit in comparison.

The Cajun seasoning on the fries is the best.

I think 5 Guys refers to 5 guys who eat meat, not the 5 Fruit of the Loom guys who eat veggies. Veggie burger? Why go?

DC (well, Arlington) is where Five Guys started. I think the original guy and/or his five sons (the sons are the five guys) still own a few of them in northern VA, though the original place has closed.

I know there are a few Five Guys up in Mass., but I don't think they are everywhere like they are other places. Probably not enough room because of all the Dunkin Donuts.

Where in the northeast? PA has 5 guys and Sonic. I know DC has 5 guys because I always go to it at the dulles airport.

NJ :(

We got a few local burger shops but they're disgusting. I'm talking lard burgers with the grease that slides down your throat. A Texas Wieners chili burger used to be good out on 22, but it changed ownership 3 times in the last 5 years. Fuddruckers is not half bad though.
