While I love my phone, it really isn't meant to be in the hot tub. I absentmindedly put it in my trunks pocket and went in the tub for a couple minutes before remembering it.

I jumped out, went inside the house, took the back off, removed the battery and memory card. Used a small screwdriver to remove the phillips screws, took the two back pieces off and main board out. Blew them out with compressed air and dropped them in the bowl with rice for 4 hours.

Put it all back together, and everything works except the external speaker. It crackles and gets hot. I ordered a new speaker piece off ebay and it should be here this week. No water got in the screen area, I guess because it is sealed? At any rate, I dodged a bullet so far. But, I do have insurance through Best Buy and they cover water damages, but still, I'm such a dolt.

Just to echo everybody else, let it continue drying for a bit. Many people think they are ok, then plug their phone in to charge or something and something goes "pop" and you have a dead brick...

Couldn't do that. I was working on deployments all day saturday for a release at work and needed my phone. Didn't have a backup. Tried working through email and it didn't work well.

That was on Saturday. I used the phone Saturday afternoon, all day yesterday, and am still working on it today.
