Did i make a mistake. The Plasma has an awesome picture just could not and would not afford to go any bigger. Will i get use to the reduction in size for the quality ?

what brands were the rear projection and the plasma?

as long as you think and see it as a good picture, then you've made a good purchase.

EhhI went with a smaller LCD over DLP/Plasma. Could've gone 52" or 56" Plasma/DLP, but nope.. 46" LCD instead. In some ways that does suck, but hey, it's ok.

The only complaint I have is our family room is 25 feet in length. The nook adds like another 10 feet, so watching from the kitchen is almost 40 feet away. 46" looks like a baby from that distance. It's hard to read the news tickers from that distance. Then again I came from a 60" projection TV, and while the quality was sh!t on that, at least I could see, but hey.. HD blows everything away. Being able to go home and watch a footblal game in HD is definitely worth it.

The right size screen depends on how close you sit to it. So if you sit closer, you should be fine.

We're about 8-10 feet away from the TV, I'm glad we went with 50"

Yea, definitely, but I think the optimal size for a house like mine is like 80", and back when we got our projection TV, such devices would be 10,000 at least, and even now... I don't think we can get a 80" plasma/lcd screen =P

Same here.
