I know they have supposedly 100% fresh, never frozen beef, but I think that all of their burgers are sorta bland. Anyone have any idea if they add seasoning to their product when cooking?

I worked at a Wendys in 1996.

We took the beef and put it directly on the flat iron grill ... never seasoned it other than a sprinkle of salt. But, they may have put some kinda seasoning at the distribution center upstream of us.

EDIT: Ichinisan is right. It was a walk in cooler/fridge, not a walk in freezer. my mistake.

The quality is hit and miss. Sometimes they're excellent. Other times I can barely taste the flavor. I think there is some variance because the burger are made fresh as I've heard one of the benefits of McDonald's going all frozen is achieving a consistant level of quality.

Ate there a couple of days ago, 2 people, $24 I think, food made me want to puke. They used to be really good, but now it's the King for me.

$12 each? Good GOD man, get the app. I did. I also got the Frosty key chain for a dollar. You can get a #2 combo (The big sized Dave hot and juicy Double) with fries and a drink for $5. With the keychain you can get a free frosty to go along with it. No reason for why a meal for two should go over $10 there unless it's for sales tax. :p

App?! $5?! Free Frosty!!That is some fine witchcraft you know of!

I feel like I’m back at the grocery store where my 10 items cost $42 and the lady ahead of me just checked out an over flowing cart filled with meats for $26.

Holy cow does Taco Bell and McDonalds work the same way? If so I’d save like $2k off my fast food bill.

Man, that $2 Frosty key chain is evil. Sure, you basically get free Frosty's for a year when you have it, but you find yourself craving those suckers and going back to Wendy's twice a week to get them :)

The McDonald's app is even better. It comes and goes, but there are app coupons that offer up a big mac or quarter pounder for a dollar. Sometimes one for a free medium fry with the purchase of any drink (Which is 1 dollar for a large, so a large drink and medium fry for $1. When they ran any burger for a buck I would do two seperate orders and get a big mac, med fry and a large drink for $2)

The Taco Bell ones tend to be worse, but better than nothing. Think $2 off any order of 10 or more.

No, Wendy's beef is not seasoned, it's also never been frozen, (unless a local franchise was cheating). They all source their patties from a local producer.

Dang I have to hire you for the newly created ‘saving on fast food’ position.
