Wendy's Dave's Deluxe

When I was a kid I was a pretty picky eater - I never ate hamburgers, which are, ironically, among my favorite foods now. I used to avoid Wendy's like the plague because in the wendy's near me they had no alternative to burgers (this is before every wendys had the chicken nuggets - it seemed like they were only available sporadically in the mid-late 80s/early 90s)

Anyway.

One time when I was 8 or 9, I was out with my friend and his family and we went to wendy's. I had no idea what to do - i didn't like anything. I ordered what my friend ordered - the Dave's Deluxe - which was fantastic. Since that day I have come to love burgers.

Now.

Has Wendy's ran the promotion in the past decade or so? Anyone remember it?

After Dave died they seemed to do everything they could to remove his face from their shops. It seemed like every poster or commercial had him on it somewhere but no longer.

I'm from Columbus, OH - where Wendy's started and is based.

Based on the commercial it's really just a Big Bacon Classic but with sauteed onions. Too bad they got rid of the BBC in favor of the "Baconator". Wendy's has really stooped to an all-time low with dumb crap like that.

They used to be all about keeping it simple and classic... Dave would s*** himself if he saw this.

I always thought the same thing if he were only alive. I had that exact thought when I saw the Wendy's commercial with the techno music in the background that sounded kinda like this song hamburger techno.

Wasn't Wendy's bought out by some faceless conglomerate? If so, it's no wonder they dumped him.
