What an annoying debate over in Hot Deals...This really should get cleared up. Anyone's experiences with these?

I used both for a while, and I liked the 955 better. The images were clearer and I had an easier time calibrating the colors. However, since I run my screens at 1280x960. the 955 could only provide (officially) a refresh rate of 75 Hz which is a bit low for me but might not matter to others.

My personally feeling on these monitors was that they were bargains half a year ago. Yet now, their price still hasn't changed much while the other brands have dropped quite a bit. I would go with the KDS or Hitachi now since they're better in quality and about the same price (under $300). The only Samsung worth getting is their 900nf which is still one of the best 19" monitors around.

Try searching these forums for info on these monitors.

The 950p is a traditional "fishbowl" monitor and the 955df is flat (well not perfectly flat but mostly). After using a flat screen, I'm partial to them and would consider the 955df over the 950p but it has too low of refresh rates for me.

I do agree with Shmorq on the prices. I think even Sony monitors are close to the price of the 900nf so now you can't recommend the 900nf over a Sony monitor because of price (gotta find another reason :)).

I use a 950p, and am continually amazed at it's clarity, and all around prettiness. :)

Never used a 955df, so I haven't been spoiled by flat monitors. Honestly, you won't mind it's slight curvature at all.
