I happen to be a fan of the now defunct show Firefly. Get this.....

"According to the scoop over at Ain't it Cool, it seems that Fox has decided that there's not enough viewers to keep the Firefly series on the air, but somehow there's enough fans to make money off DVD sales. Go figure. Included in the set will be the entire season plus unaired episodes and the original pilot in full 16:9 format. Extras I assume are included as well. No release date has been set as of yet."

EDIT: I hope this isn't a repost. I didn't find anything when I did a search for Firefly.

The only show I "consistently" look foward too and watch on FOX is the Simpsons. Everything else is suck.

I watch That 70's Show but even that show is going downhill fast. Same thing goes for the Simpsons. It is a legacy but the quality of episodes has gone WAY downhill.

As long as they don't do this to 24 & The Shield, I will remain happy :)

Yeah, I don't get it, they can "Family Guy" but they are going to make a KILLING on the DVD sales. I guess it was because FG was too risque... but that hasn't stopped them times before. Or perhaps they were creating too much competition with their golden child "the simpsons"... Whatever. I guess I'll just have to get by with what's on the DVDs.

I can actually tell you why. Fox is now a big network. Shows like X-Files and Simpsons got them there. Now they refuse to allow a show to grow. If the show isn't an instant success, Fox just cans it. They only want instant hits.

If you look at the ratings of X-Files' first season you will actually see that Firefly stomped the ratings into the ground. Firefly had a pretty big audience and if I remember correctly can in about 89 out of 120 shows. That is usually pretty good for a brand new show that didn't get a lot of exposure.

X-Files on the other hand consistently came in like 115 out of 120 shows its first season. The difference is that Fox is a big network now.

They won't can The Shield. That show rocks too much to get cancelled anytime soon.

They won't can 24 either. It's got at least another season. They could can every other show on Fox but as long as 24 is on I could care less :)

They should never have cancelled the first one.
MWC rules. :D

I loved that show, but it really Jumped the Shark with the introduction of Seven.

Now they wont release seasons of the show on DVD for some reason :(

I thought they only had a couple of dvd's out with the "craziest episodes". Not full seasons.
