not suprising. the first reviews of the new games are coming out. Halo got butchered by ign, apparently an 8.7 (i dont have insider but that's what all the posts are saying). it got much better reviews on other sites however, and ign isnt the end all, be all of reviews. doa3 got a 9.4, project gotham an 8.9 (these are in line with other reviews). rogue squadron has been about a 9.1 everywhere. ign dropped a bombshell today, MGS2 at a whopping 9.8 in everything but presentation. looks like we have a weiner. same score as GTA3 and GT3. makes me really freakin interested in the PS2 now, the one system out of the 3 i wasnt even looking at. looks to have some killer games, albiet a bit late. xbox and gamecube games have gotten lackluster reviews so far, nothing really killer (about a 70/30 on halo being one of the best games out). if IGN gave MGS2 a 9.8, and only gave halo an 8.7 and doa3 a 9.4, you can imagine what other websites that gave halo a 9.5 will be giving MGS2.
