Well for those that remember my post awhile back about my dog getting into trouble (Scratching a Pit Bull's head in a fight) todays his hearing.

Wish us LUCK!

ummm... care to point us to your previous thread explaining the situation? Any Pit Bull that gets injured is fine as far as I'm concerned. :)

Good luck with the hearing. Shouldn't their dog be on trial since it is the one that iniated the attack?

Well we lost...

He was pretty much guilty no matter WHO started what because he wasn't leased and their dog was.

However the animal control officer asked the guy conducting the hearing if it would be OK if Brutus continues to come to work with me, and HE CAN!!

They both (the guy conducting the hearing and the animal control officer) said they had no doubt that Brutus is a good dog and that the whole thing was a fluke and would most likely never happen again!

So the bottom line is, now Brutus can be inside the shop, but when he is out side he has to either be on a leash or in a secure enclosure.
Same at home!! I said when he's at home he is either inside with me or out in the backyard taking case of business. They said if he's outside he must be in a secure enclosure. (But they also said on the sly, that no one would ever come by and check ;) ) I also have to buy a special "Dangerous Dog License" ($50) that will expire at the end of one year, at which time I can ask for a review and get Brutus' name cleared.

SO I guess all in all, things could have been much worse.

By the way, the guy that owns the pit bull did lie about a few things. So it goes I guess. At least I know I told the honest truth about EVERYTHING that was said and done..

Brutus the KILLER

That all came out better than I had expected, but not as good as I had hoped!

$50 'bad boy' license is not too bad after all, and I think that was just to appease the plaintiff.

Yeah, pretty much.

The down side is I haven't been in a fight since I moved to Oregon in 1975 but there is a part of me that wants to punch this guys lights out. If for no other reason, because he lied and he's a uppity little punk! (sorry......I'm still a bit pissed @ his overall attitude and the fact that he denied saying "If my other pit bull had been there, your dog would be DEAD right now." among a few other things.)

The guy's a prick and there's no excuse for his attittude. You clearly walked out of this the better man and everyone there knows it. I feel bad for the prick's dogs though. The world is F'ed up like that. Now think about it, I feel bad for the prick too. It must be sad to 0wned by your girl and having to live a life of lies. Either way you're better than him and you've gotten this far.. so don't blow it by kicking his ass! ;)
