Well, today is the day! Im leaving for Army Basic Training

My recruiter picks me up tonight at 6:30 and Im gonna head to the hotel. I report in at 6 tomorrow, a quick physical, then I get on a plane, and off to Missouri for about 18 weeks. :p

18 weeks of fun of course. Guns, close combat, etc :p Im going in as a 95b, Military Police. Reserves for now while I do some college, but the goal is to go active with a different job in a year or two.

One of my friends just got done with his Basic 2 months ago. He's an MP now, headed off to Iraq tomorrow. I wish you teh best of luck, and thank you for serving our country.

good luck but i still don't understand the people that decide to join any military service branch especially with the danger that comes with that kind of job consider how many wars we seems to initate and the pay is not alot comparing to the danger of getting shot, taken as pow or even getting killed by enemy of friendly fire(blue on blue)

Pride for your country. Patriotism. You live in this country free of (most) of the evils of the world because of the proud an honorable men and women who served in our military. It's those people who risk their lives that grant you that freedom.

Good luck Bill, do us proud. I may be heading to BT myself in a couple months, still deciding on that though.

You picked a pretty crappy time of year to end up training in Missouri. Gonna be pourin' gallons of sweat whilst doing all those pushups.
