just curious, did she give him a hug?

You kidding? You want a sexual harassment suit started or something???

After my father died my boss gave me a hug. There was nothing sexual about it.

I work in an office where showing bare feet it a sexual offense...hugging would cause a lawyer explosion or something.

After my father died, one of my bosses ignored me for several months and never mentioned it, except as a criticism of not working hard enough during that time.

My direct managers were entirely sympathetic and just let me do whatever I needed to do, I publicly thanked them for being so understanding.

It is bad enough I can sit in my office and hear the fat women going on and on about whatever the hell tragedy is currently going on in their lives. No way in hell would I ever get involved by asking them if they are ok. Luckily I can close my door and drown them out....most of the time. It is amazing the sounds that can come out of a 350lb woman and the way it can pierce walls. Thankfully Bobby Don is going to truck "drivin" school now so he will have a good job to support his "young uns"
oh hell, now that sounds like torture.

but if your office Mimi was genuinely crying you'd just walk by and ignore her?

Yes....and that isn't just in theory.

I've told people, not just the fat women, that are blubbering on and on about whatever crisis they are currently having that if they can't shut the hell up about it then they need to take PTO and go home so they don't keep everyone else from working.
being you're a married guy and a dad i know you're really not that mean. ;)

I wasn't talking about them blubbering-gossiping, I was talking about them crying-shedding tears.

Yeah.....pretty much I am. I tell people here all the time that we are here to do a job, not to do an episode of Maury.

Fuck that!

Just do your job and stay away from the drama queen.

Fuck. The world just imploded and hell froze over.
We agree on something!
:scared;

That would be the cue for me to go on an extended coffee break.

If the person was someone I was relatively close with I would be over there asking what is wrong, otherwise, no thanks and it's none of my business.
