Well, this is new: red pixels

My old PC, 4870, Wnidows 10, had been off for a month.

Tonight I turned it on, and from the login screen to the desktop, red pixels are spattered all over the screen. Huh?

In other words, it basically works, but instead of a solid blue background, it's the blue background with hundreds of pixels randomly red. It's not the monitor - new PC uses the same monitor without this.

I had the exact type of artifacting from a bad HDMI cable. Try gently wiggling the cable on both ends while the display is on and see what happens.
