I ripped every fan out of my case and PSU and replaced them with Panaflo L1A's. Only one exhaust in back, cpu fan, and psu fan.

I installed a Radeon 9700 Pro the other day and my temps went up 5 degrees to 53 when gaming.

I suppose I could just add another panaflo as an intake and see if that helps at all.

Darn! :( Any airflow optomizations left that you could try, like replacing stamped metal with a wire grille at the rear exhaust and the PSU exhaust? Lower turbulence (and noise), higher airflow, better looks.

Hadn't really thought about doing any of that.
Guess I could pull out the dremel and chop of some of that extra metal over the fans. I'll probably still add an intake fan as well. I have a feeling that will help most and it will still be pretty quiet.

What sort of CPU? It probably doesn't matter anyway, since 53C is still more than adequately cool. Don't worry about it...

It's an AMD xp1800.

Definitely needs more airflow. I took off the side cover on the case and the temp went back down to where it was before.
