this has to be one of the most REPOSTed threads on this board...

Don't watch it if you don't like it. It's not that hard.

Yeah, lets replace a classic like The Simpsons with total garbage like Family Guy and Southpark, thats a smart move. :disgust:

The Simpsons is a great series, and will be around at least through season 19, which their contract with Fox stipulates. Season 20 and onward haven't been finalized yet though.

I haven't seen season 18 premiere yet, looking forward to it. :)

Well.. we can all pray that Southpark starts out good this season... last season was pretty lame. I believe the first new episode isn't until October though. Oddly, my channel guide gave a synopsis of the first new episode for about 30 seconds the other night, then it reverted to a re-run instead. Something about Tony Hawk...

It made me sad to think about, I could have DVRed it, I have plenty of space, but I didn't even bother. American Dad was of space, Family Guy was alright. I'm looking forward to Venture Bros. tomorrow.

How can you not laugh at Homer's Interrogation of Moe?

Warning Potential Spoiler Above. You should not have read this post.

Yea... that was pretty funny.

But honestly, I don't ever recall laughing throughout a simpsons episode... even some of the earlier ones. But I also rarely laugh at American Dad and family guy too, but I still watch all three anyway.

I'll agree, the simpsons is past it's prime, but it's not much worse than say ten years ago.

No, its been retarded from day 1. Once in a while, they will have a funny scene, but such a scene happens once a season. Sometimes even less frequently.

Stupid stupid stupid show, Southpark. Almost equal with Family Guy for the most retarded animated show ever.

Yeah ok.

1) anti conform
2) 'too good' for goofy humor, and too stupid to understand the deeper political humor (southpark in particular)

I resent that. Southpark's 'deeper political' humor is interspersed with stupid 'fart' jokes.

They do a damn good job of mixing the two.

Unbelievable how sensitive the "public" is. A few sensitivity groups who threaten to walk up the hill destroyed the show. Just like how they took off Bill Marhs Political Incorrect show and The Family Guy.

They didn't even want to show the Channel 2 (CBS) 9/11 documentary because fireman used strong language.

i have not watched the simpsons in a good 2-3 seasons and haven't watched it on a regular basis in years. I only watch the occasional rerun at like 6-7pm during the week and even then there is usually something better on like CSI on SpikeTV

Who were the writers for the early seasons of The Simpsons? They need to get those guys back immediately

Conan O'Brien was a writer for the Simpsons. Maybe they can get him back?

I haven't watched an episode of Simpsons, or FG, or SP on TV in years. Strictly because I detest commercials and won't watch anything broadcast. However, I do pick up all the season DVD sets and watch them in peace, and I've found that to this day I enjoy all three shows immensely. They've all had some crap episodes but generally... I've never been disappointed. Besides.... IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!

I have lost interest in The Simpsons. It was good, but not so much anymore. I do enjoy American Dad though.
