I am trying to learn Linux and I have everything working on redhat 8.0 except for my wireless lan card. I have a orinoco WaveLAN gold PCMCIA card and I have installed the proper modules for wlan-ng for my kernel and I still cannot get it to work!!

Anyone have any ideas

You're going to have to give alot more information than that, what do you mean "it doesn't work"? It looks at you and verbally announces that it refuses to cooperate?

No it means that the thing gives me a high beep and then low beep when I palce it into the PCMCIA slot, like it doesn't see it.

Um is that a wavelan or wacelan?

I'll assume its a wavelan... See the hardpart is I am not sure about what Redhat uses to for the support of it's pcmcia, but my guess is that since wlan-ng is made for the prismII-like pcmcia wireless cards, your card may not be supported by it.

Once place I found via google search: linux oricono, was oricono linux

That might help you get started, I am afraid I never done wireless lans, and my knowledge of pcmcia cards is limited so I could be dead wrong.
