i just got home from school. Finally on break. Hooked u my 2 comps. I noticed that I smelt something burning and then thought nothing of it. about 20 min later I look at the comps are realize that one of them hasn?t booted yet but its on. Strikes me as odd.

Then it hits me. Burning smell + computers = BAD!

open up the case and i see that the fan has fallen off the HS. Tbird 1.4 isn?t exactly the coolest chip ever. i touch the HS to see if its hot, and what do I get

fusking A that hurt. Now have stupid lines on my fingers

So now I?m pissed thinking I just killed a proc. so I let it cool and go have a few beers
I just came back upstairs a decided id see if it still worked. And low and behold it booted up fine. :Q

Who would have thought that? I smelt it burning and it was so hot it burned me. it was running without a fan for at least 20 min.

Thanks to AMD for making chips that can overcome stupidity
