If you havent heard this already then here it is:

tested the Toshiba Tecra M1, using the Trident XP4 and a Pentium-M 1.6 GHz with 512MB RAM versus his dad's Dell Latitude D600 with a 32MB, 64-bit (most are 128-bit) Radeon 9000, PentiumM 1.6GHz and 512MB RAM and WinXP.

His score dropped by half if he just changed name of 3dmark01SE to, let's say, inquirer.exe.

I mean i know about the little quark thing in 3dmark2003 but i never saw the diff without it. THIS is just sad ....

TRIDENT CHEATED ON 3Dmark2001SE!

lol, I feel bad for trident. I've got several really old 2MB Cards of theirs, they worked very well back in the day.

actually

matrox reef demo has clipping planes insterted in it but since you can't run it on anything else it's not ostensibly a "cheat", therefore since matrox cheated itself your only option is to buy intel integrated.

;O

And Intel cheats by calling it "Extreme" graphics (unless they mean extremely average).

I'm holding out for S3 DeltaChrome. They will be too busy writing driver-workarounds for their buggy hardware... no time to write cheats!!!

Not quite true. If you dig around a bit, you'll find there are ways to run the Reef demo on non-Matrox cards.

3dfx had GLIDE, they forced the developers to cheat for them. hehehehe

They didn't cheat, and look where it got them.;)

It's not a bug, it's a feature. It's not a cheat, it's an optimization! I'd love to try that on a test - "I wasn't cheating! I just found a more efficient way of answering the questions accurately!"
