Well Notre Dame lost today and Georgia Tech lost too...

It looks like Weis (THE GREATEST COACH EVER ZOMG LETS GIVE HIM A 10-YEAR EXTENSION!) still isn't going to be able to beat a top-25 team at his coaching tenure...unless Georgia Tech is able to hold on to maybe 24 or 25 in one of the polls.

This is coming from a team with Quinn, Samardzija, McKnight, Walker, and I'm sure a few other NFL prospects. What's wrong, Weiss? :)

It means Notre Dame is a fraud of a team and will likely lose by 21+ points in whatever BCS bowl game that they undeservedly go to.

What makes you think they are going to a BCS bowl game?

Oh, and to answer the "What is wrong" part of your post.. They gave up 91 points in the only two games that mattered on their schedule. Notice how all of the NFL prospects you spoke of play on the offensive side of the ball?

They won more than 8 games and will undoubtedly be chosen.

it means ND should keep playing weak teams like UNC, army, navy, airforce if they want to have 9-10 win seasons

BTW, here is the BCS stipulation that specifically pertains to Notre Dame:

Notre Dame will have an automatic berth if it is in the top eight of the final BCS Standings.

They receive an automatic berth if they finish in the top 8, and with several top 10 teams going down, them losing to what will be the #2 team, combined with the pollsters hard-on for Notre Dame they have a good chance of making a BCS game.

Wish UCLA had held on to beat ND, then again wih the way BCS works that would have probably hurt USC

They were in when they won their 9th game. No bowl is going to pass up the cash cow that is the Notre Dame fanbase.

Notre Dame would still sneak in. They wouldn't be lower than 14 in the BCS. With 9 wins, they would get picked.

It's not a good chance. I'd bet my house that they get picked. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rose Bowl took them, considering they get the first two picks if USC beats UCLA.

I'm aware that if they finish in the top 8 they will get an automatic bid, but they just got blasted by 20. They will fall out of the top 10 in the BCS.

True, but if you look back at the recruiting years, Notre Dame is full of great 4-5 star recruits. They should not be giving up as many points as they have been.

#1 - Weis didn't recruit any of them
#2 - Highly rated recruiting classes are nice, but they don't win games. Ask Florida State and Miami.

And let's be honest about ND's recruiting classes from the past few years. Last year they had their best class in years and it had 2 five-star and 10 four-star guys. Only TWO were on defense.

The years before that were NOT good years for recruiting.

They won't fall as far as you think. And even if they fall, it won't be beyond #14, which is the minimum to qualify.

It's Notre Dame. They bring their own set of rules to the game. This is nothing new.

It means that U-M won't be playing OSU for the national championship (unless some Bizzaro-world type thing occurs), but at least I won't have to listen to all of the OSU fans whine about how it "wasn't fair" and they "never should have had a rematch" when they lose to Michigan in January.

Lets just assume for the sake of argument that USC loses to UCLA. Would this mean that we'd have a USC-ND rematch in the Rose Bowl assuming Florida goes down in the SEC Championship game next weekend?

Just a heads-up.. You are probably going to get a rematch in the Rose Bowl as it is. If USC doesn't blow it against the Bruins, it wouldn't surprise me to see Michigan and Notre Dame play in the Rose Bowl.

And I, for one, would love that. Notre Dame proved today that they are the same team that Michigan beat the sh!t out of in South Bend in September and I wouldn't expect a different result on a neutral field.

i would expect a worse beating.

UM is the number 2.5 team in the nation.

right now, a USC vs UM game would be amazing, i dont believe USC has the power to beat the buckeyes, even though USC plays physical, OSU isnt a push over notre dame team. none of the receivers on OSU can they key up on(Samarjia sp?) and you cant watch for only the pass, followed by a draw play.

I think Jarret/Smith would be a big challenge for OSU.

i dont, it is not like OSU cant practice against a very similar offense on the practice fields.

the teams are similar, offenses are potent, but OSU has a defense that is tough as hell, and very rarely lets a team throw on them.
