I had my shoulder surgery this morning. I can feel my arm again and move my hand (the whole thing was dead weight). I'm still on local anesthetic, i don't know how long it will take for the hydrocodone and lortab to kick in and I'm starting to ache. I won't be able to do much for the next two weeks so expect me on anandtech alot... I wish i could typewith two hands though.

I streched a bunch of tendons in my shoulder from swimming. There was a possibility of torn cartlidge but it turns out it was infammed and ground up a bit but that was ok. They apparently burned the tendons to shrink them (I'm not quite sure, that's what I remember them telling me during the surgery but I was so doped up on no worry drugs my memory is cloudy). It'll be 3 months till I can raise my arm past my head, 6 till I swim again. Kind of havy to deal with when you're only 18

Good to hear your surgery went well. I think I posted a depressing post in your last post about how my back surgery messed up. Things got a little bit better though thanks to big long needles and a doctor that likes to put them in your back. Surgery really sucks especially if you're in high school. I had my elbow operated on my senior year and it took me out of pretty much all activities. The aching sucks, but codeine is your friend. You in a sling, or did they give you one of those shoulder cast things? One word of advice. Take the drugs, whenever you need them, don't try to act tough. I tried that and almost ended going into the emergency room the pain was so bad. Once it starts hurting, it's hard to catch up with the pain pills.

I'm taking the pain stuff evrytime I can, I start aching near the end of the dose so i pop the maximum i'm allowed. It's not screwing with my head like I thought it would, I feel like I'm on a light cold medicine.
