Well my life is really going nowhere in a hurry...

I got laidoff last month, the last day I did any work was May 29th. Since then I've had maybe 8-10 phone internviews, maybe 3 sit down interviews, tons of calls with recruiters. And I still sit at home.
A friend was going to try to hook me up with some contract work...that didn't work out.

I worked in IT, huge company (Hint:HAL, whoever can figure that out gets a price). I moved to Chicago about a year ago, I had a job that required that I travel every week, so all the people that I knew live in other cities. So besides my girlfriend and her 2 cats I got one friend that I am really not enjoying hanging out with anymore.

So my daily social interaction involves her cats, postman and maybe the starbucks barista.

At least the off topic forums keep me sane!

I'm sorry, I feel your pain.

I hear you, it must suck living in Chicago 😀 j/k......
Things change... I too, am idle.
< Must stop answering for the cat and let her mew for herself.

Join the unemployment sticky thread up top.

Pound the pavement.

Hit the job websites.

And the three 'N's of job hunting....Network, Network, Network!

Good luck (went thru 7 mos. of unemployment myself last year into this)

thats rough man...good luck. Maybe you can try applying to microsoft...the unemployed thread says they're adding 5000 new jobs.
