Well My 1995 Saturn SC2 that I've had since High School is not worth repairing. It's a black 2 door with 199,770 on the clock. The body dosen't have any damage to it but it has kind of a lengthy service record. The transmission was changed at 168K with a used on with 42K on it. The radiator had been changed as well as other componets. It's been maintained. Currently....

-The windshield is cracked
-The Alternator went bad and is no longer charging the battery.
-It of course burns oil.
-The interior has gone to shit. Ceiling cloth falling as well as seats are no longer comfortable. Holes in carpet.
-A/C need recharge.
-Can't Pass VEIP emissions testing (needs new Catalytic Converter)

I don't think I can get much for it. Maybe a couple of hundrend dollars. What do you think I should do.

1. Donate it.
2. Sell it (how much would you say) KBB states 1700 in fair condition I think that is way too high.
3. part it

If you use the condition estimator, KBB rates the car as "poor", not "fair".

At best I'd say that it's a $500 car.

I would say put a used alternator in it, and maybe put a new cat-con on and sell it to a high school kid for $7-800

I've been thinking of doing at least change the alternator. The alternator though is mounted sooo strange. underneath the engine is the only way to get at it. I remember my wife's camry it was mounted on top.

If I get rid of my car I've had since 1995 I really just want it to go out in a blaze of glory.

I'd like to sell it to the mob and have them use it as a getway vehicle and end up taking it off a cliff somewhere in Nevada while being chaced by state troopers. Or dropped on a terrorist hideout in Iraq from 20,000 ft. Or used in a hollywood blockbuster pyrotechnic stunt and then sold as charred memorabilia.

Saturns can be great cars but they use too much plastic. Plastic panals, plastic on the interior, even plastic valve covers! I say melt it down and turn it into a mannequin. Awesome idea.
