Because format kills your registry and gets rid of 4000 entries you've accumulated over the months but are no longer necessary.Why is it that people rush to reformat at the first sign of trouble? What ever happened to booting froom a floppy, deleting the \Windows and \Program Files directory while keeping all the important stuff intact, and installing the OS again?
Its like regaining your virginity. 😱A nice clean format is a good feeling....kind of like spring cleaning your house....
