No, you're thinking of Cortislim. It's much too powerful and much too expensive for the casual dieter.Originally posted by: Red Dawn
Isn't Atkins more for those who need to lose 20 lbs or more?

At least they guy is only going for $15k, rather than the millions anyone else would probably sue for, and that might just be to cover medical costs/personal downtime from work etc, it's a fairly minimal sum considering the usual mentality of US society.

Even if no risks are mentioned Atkins shouldn't be held responsible. If I tell someone that they can lose weight by drinking a shot of mr. clean every morning and they actually follow that advice, that's not my problem that they are morons. In the case of Atkins it's going to be essentially impossible to prove that atkins is the only reason this guy is having problems now anyway.Originally posted by: Fingolfin269
If the (obvious) risks are not discussed in Atkins book then I'm sure this guy will win. Well, if it can be medically proven that he is not a random case of bad luck.
Mcdonalds doesn't say that 3 bigmacs a day will give you health problems, but it will, and you shouldn't be able to sue afterwards.

Hey, I'm not saying that I agree with his decision to sue Atkins. I'm just saying that he has a good shot at winning.

Actually, no he doesn't. All legal precedents are against this type of lawsuit.
