Hello,

My eVGA 6800GT has finally kicked the bucket and i need to find a replacement. I haven't been keeping up with the latest on video cards out there so i need your help. My system is about 3 yrs old and is as follows:

AMD 3700+
1 GB RAM
DFI LanParty Ultra-D
WD Raptor 74GB
Audigy ZS
Tagan 480W
19" Viewsonic +95pf CRT

I would like to keep the price under $300 as i will probably be upgrading the whole setup late this year. Thank you in advance for your replies.

A 320MB 8800GTS would only run you about 280 bucks off Newegg. That would probably be your best bet, you could even throw that card into your upgraded rig later on this year and it'd be quite useful for another year or two.

Thanks! Do you think my cpu would be a bottleneck and/or my power supply adequate for this kind of card?

Your power supply is fine, however your CPU is definitely going to bottleneck this card. Not enough to where you won't be able to run games, however. There's no sense in getting a cheaper card, especially if you plan to upgrade later this year.
