I signed up in September or October out of interest in what was happening in Afghanistan, so I could know as soon as possible if something big happens, (ie: Osama being found or killed), but nowadays all I get are notifications about violence in Israel, which we all know about and apparently are happening all the time now.
 
well, that is your choice,

just because of violence in Isreal you feel that no other news of import will come through that system, oh well

I had the exact same issue. Breaking news can be either "Nuclear warhead released over London" or "2 dead in bombing in the west bank". There are bombings like 20 times a day.I know that, so why does CNN keep telling it to me like it's some ground breaking news event?
