I went to my first local office surplus auction today and it was GREAT!!!
I got some really amazing deals.
There was a huge lot of 120 mostly old monitors ranging from mostly 17" - 21" and one damaged 19" lcd. Whatever you bid you had to pay per which ever monitor you wanted. So the first bidding went for $35 since there was a Dell 19" LCD "damaged". The guy of course only took the LCD and paid the $35. Second round of bidding NOBODY wanted the monitors so the price stayed at any monitor for $5 each. I bid and when I went to select which ever monitors I wanted I found 2 Dell 21" p1130 trinitrons manufactured in 2003 in absolute perfect condition! $10 for both.
After that they put up ALL the monitors into one big pool, highest bidder takes all. Well, 118 monitors went for $50. There were lots of 17" Dell trinitons made in 2003 in there.
$140 for one big lot of 84 computers but with no hard drives and just the towers alone. They all had either CD burners and/or DVD drives. Ram varied from 128mb - 256mb
4 - Pentium 4 1.8ghz - 2.0ghz towers with geforce 3 videocards
10 - Pentium 3 800mhz (socket 370) desktops
40 - Pentium 3 500mhz - 600mhz (slot 1) desktops
30 - Pentium 2 400mhz desktops
I took all the P4 and P3-800mhz desktops, opened up all the rest and pulled a 128mb pc133 stick out of each, also pulled a few 600mhz (slot 1) P3 CPUs. I gave away the rest since I wouldnt of had enough room on my truck or at home.
Epson wide format printers $70 for both. They sell for $350 each on ebay
.
A few scanners for $5 each.
One lot of 3 Dell CPi pentium II laptops, 1 compaq laptop, and one really old "notebook" brand laptop. $130 for eveything.
After that I had enough.
