This is bad

I havent defragged my work PC in over a year, and since then i upgraded from NT4 to win2k(which explains the partitions). I have never seen a drive more fragmented.

I know this guy whose computer is a complete mess. His desktop is FULL of icons, and he can't find ANYTHING without using the search-feature. He has about 20 programs running in the background... But he compensates by defragmenting his hard-drive every week:confused:

EDIT: Your HD is small ;)

Its a work PC, what more do i need? I have nearly every program that we use on this thing, and still have a ton of space.

Well, it's OK for a work PC. I have noticed that software takes up all the available space on my PC at home. First I thought that 10 gigs was enough. It was... for about 2 months. Then I got 30 gig HD (that 10 gig went to Linux), and it too got small. Now I'm planning to get 100 gig HD when I upgrade next. And I would have about 16 gigs in a fileserver. That should be enough for a little while at least.

EDIT: typo

See, i store all the important stuff on the network. Our network file server is getting full(almost 200GB...)

yep. that's the way it should be (meaning: use the network if you have it). And that's what I'll do once I get that "personal fileserver". Now that I'll think about it, I'll propably make it 36 gig fileserver. I would then have that and the 100 gig HD as storage-space. It should take me some time to fill it all :).
