Well I just got NetFlix

For those that don't have it and are considering it, I am telling you that you should sign up right now, I am loving it. Just got my first movies, and now I can catch up on all the movies I haven't seen recently and all the old movies everyone talks about that I never saw.

I had netflix, until I watched every movie that I ever thought about watching and ended up just renting crappy movies just to see why they're so crappy. Around that time I cancelled my subscription.

cue: whiny f-tards moaning about their $15/month doesn't allow them to rent 400 movies per month

Just wait 'till you get throttled or something. I cancelled it due to their shady business practices.

yeah netflix is great for a few months

hell i would be happy if the rate was as it was the first 3 months. first 3 months i had it i would get 3 movies a week (so 12 a month). after about 3 months it slowed down to maybe 9 a month and never got any better. they would recieve my movie in one day but take 5 days to ship it out? pfft.

so i switched to Blockbuster. not that it was any better but at least i had 1 in store rental a week.

Once you discover the TV series on DVD, you will realize the TRUE power of netflix.

Yes I have it. But I've had the same three movies for the past four months, so I guess I'm not really using it. I keep forgetting to cancel, thanks for reminding me.

What is this Tivo thing everyone speaks of? Is it some type of movie camera that allows you to tape what you watch on TV? 😛

i guess renting as many dvds as you can, burning them, returning, and repeating isn't shady? no reason you need that many dvds a month unless you have no job and life.

when i 1st started with netflix a few months ago, i got a movie like the day after i returned one. now i send one in and get the next 2 days later. not that big of a deal to me. most of the time i don't even get to watch them until a few days after i get them anyway.

any reasonable person should have no problem with this.

My wife won three 1 year subscriptions so the price is right. We kept two of them and gave my parents the other. Prior to getting Netflx I hardly ever watched DVD's, usually just used On Demand from Comcast.

not everyone that is throttled is a burn and returner. I went from 12 movies a month down to 6-9 a month.

i know, i've been throttled too, but its not that big of a deal.

what plan do you have? how far away is your distribution center?

I had the 3 out at one time. chicago area has a center.

when it started i would get 3 movies a week. sometimes 6. it was that way for 3-6 months. then it slowed down.

going from 3-6 to maybe 3 a week is nuts.

I loved it too until I got throttled for renting too many DVDs and had to wait 3-4 days for movies that were taking 1-2 days before they noticed how many I rent a month.

Screw NetFlix and their false advertising. (I actually still have it but I really should get rid of it)

why do we have to go through this every time a netflix thread is made?

I foresee my subscription heading this way. I rushed and saw all the the movies I missed out on in the last few years with the 3 @ a time plan, now I just bumped that down to 2 @ a time. Within another 6 months or so, I'll probably just go down to a single movie or cancel.

I have gone through a lot of movies but I think I will eventually drop down to the 2-at-a-time setup and just get tv series and new releases as they come out.
