Well I Joined TA UD!

I wanted to let smokeball know that I had joined the TA UD cancer project, however, I am having difficulty getting my forum account to accept the changes I made to my profile, namely allowing PMs. There is something definitely wrong with my account but I did not want to wait until I got that resolved to let smokeball know. So smokeball, I joined Team AnandTech!

Thanks for the help networkman. I joined the team because of the shameless threads in the other forums. I decided to do the UD crunching because I saw that it will make a difference in peoples lives in a way greater than all of the others. I think that I may also join the fightaids@home project when I get a faster connection to the internet. I dial up so I like how it can do work with out me having to be online.

I have the software just two machines so I do what I can. I don't have a farm of unix boxes just sitting around. When I see that some members have these farms doing SETI, RC5, etc. I wonder what could be accomplished if they turn their machines to fighting disease.

I understand that there is a tremendous amount of comraderie and competitiveness associated with advancing in placement and so forth but could that same feeling be developed with the disease fighting projects. TeamAnandTech is capable of mustering tremendous computing power, we can do better than just 500 some UD participants. We could very easily overtake some of the others ahead of us as we are only number 34, I believe.

Let's do something that will have a powerfull impact on the human condition!
