Today I have been extremely sick and fatigued, but the fatigue has been a problem for months now. I have an appointment with my doctor because it seems very likely that I have some underlying problem that has been causing fatigue and weakness for months now. I can't even exercise properly without being sore for weeks or experiencing sickness. I have read several places that it could be diabetes(runs in my family a lot) or some type of thyroid dysfunction.

Tonight I was cooking some food when my friend called(Bosshawk1 on ATOT). When he first called I didn't understand what the hell he was talking about, but it was all later pieced together for me. Evidently, he had been playing inter-mural football and somehow was hit in the head or his head hit something. He didn't know where he was, what day or time it was, how he got where he was, and he didn't remember the past several hours. Somehow he managed to call me because I had called him earlier and it showed up as a missed call. He was very incoherent and unsure of where he was. It wasn't until I had been on the phone with him for about 5 or 6 minutes that he realized where he was. He was DRIVING his car on the interstate but he didn't know how. He doesn't remember even being in his car or driving on the interstate until I was talking to him. He drove a good 10 miles in a semi-conscious state. His memory is pretty bad right now and he keeps repeating himself... he has no recollection of what happened from 8:30 to 11:30 PM last night. I took him to the hospital and just got back an hour ago. He has a mild concussion and the CAT scan was normal, so he should recover fully.

As if that sh!t all day and night wasn't enough, but God saw fit for me to experience more. I just moved to a more rural part of the county and there is an abundance of deer. The truck in front of me on Coleman Lake Rd hit a baby deer(Female/Doe). At first I thought it was a dog, but I stopped and went to look at it. It was whimpering and breathing heavy and I couldn't stand it anymore. It made me sick to my stomach and I couldn't be around it any longer. I can't believe the idiot that hit it didn't stop. I wish I had a gun so I could have put it out of its misery. It made me so sad and sick that it was in pain.

I hope its injuries are just minor or moderate and that it lives. I just hate that it was in pain. :(

What a crappy day.

:( That sucks.

Hope your friend is allright..

Poor deer. :frown: If it was whimpering, breathing heavy and didn't seem to be up on all 4s, it was probably a gonner.. :(

Should have taken it to a vet, or called one in. If it was not possible to get a vet there nor to take it along to one you should have checked for signs of severe damage (broken bones and such), and if present snap its neck. No need for it to die in a slow and painful way.

Did you call a local vet or something?

Usually they are more terrified by humans trying to help them then they are of the actual accident.

That's to bad.

I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Not to be an obnoxious Optimist, but your friend was very lucky to have you to get him thru that ordeal.

Sending you much needed hugs Mill. What a day is an understatement. :(

Update us on your friend when you have one...the deer just about broke my heart.

Sorry, this sounds horrible, but you should have taken a tire iron and ended it for the deer. I grew up in a small town and have been involved in a few collisions with deer. I remember once my Mom hit one. Basically it's back legs where broken and it was trying to crawl off the road. A guy behind us took his tire iron and finished her off. A vet or anything probably couldn't have saved her and she was just in pain. Sounds horrible, but it's better then the deer lying in the ditch for a few days and then dying.

I'm sorry, but you just don't stop for deer, unless you plan on hauling it home to prepare it and eat it. I think skunks, badgers, racoons, rabbits, squirrels, etc. are cute, but around where I live if you stopped for each one on the side of the road you'd have a full time job.

You had a horrible day. I'm sorry, Mill. Hope your next ones are better, and that you feel better soon. :(

Don't go start reading shite on Med sites. You could have anything! I used to do that when I thought I was having heart problems. Then when I started to panic and have anxiety attacks, I actually did have heart problems from the symptoms of stress.

You just need to relax. Let the doctor's give you peace of mind and some paxel.

Actually, my friends mom tested my blood sugar and was a nurse for 25 years... but at any rate no I am not freaking out about my health.

No cell phone on a backroad at 4AM. No way to call a vet.

I wish I would have thought of that, but I was so tired and pretty much exhausted that it didn't even cross my mind.

I hate seeing animals in pain. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a person since they know what's goin' on but a deer would be like WTF?

Ok, well just found out that I won't be going to the doctor until at least Friday. Somehow my insurance card has disappeared and I am waiting on my mother to send me a new one...

That sucks.
